Transport Festival - Easter Sunday 21 April 2019
Many thanks to the vehicle owners, volunteers and visitors who made our Easter Sunday Transport Festival happen - another year and another successful event with over 500 visitors, and the warmest and sunniest Easter event for a number of years.
A selection of cars and buses from the Museum's collection, along with guest buses and coaches, took to the road for the day, and a healthy number of visiting cars, buses and commercial vehicles were on display around the Museum. Bus services included our traditional Lincoln City Centre service, and to the Natural World Centre at Whisby and Doddington for Doddington Hall.
A total of 4 cars and 28 buses and coaches ran, representing nine decades - ranging in age from the Society's 1927 Leyland Tiger PLSC1 to a visiting 2003 Dennis Dart new to Hattons of St Helens, making its debut at the event, a 'modern' vehicle to many visitors, but by now the same age as many half-cab buses were when they were withdrawn from service in the 1970s!
A healthy number of classic cars and motorcycles were visiting for the day, making for a varied display around the Museum.

As ever, our grateful thanks to our friends and neighbours around Whisby Road's business community including Siemens at Teal Park, Your Print Partner and Fixfirm on Pyke Road, as well as everyone at the Hillcroft Business Park, UK Tool Solutions and Robes and Rails on Whisby Road, and Lindum at Station Road for their usual help with the use of their premises for vehicle parking.
A list of the cars and buses that were on the road can be seen here.
