Transport Festival at the Museum - Easter Sunday 1 April and Sunday 4 November 2018
More about the 1 April 2018 event here
Our long established events (formerly known as Open Days) on Easter Sunday and the first Sunday in November allow visitors access to the 'hidden' areas of our Museum, including our workshop, and a chance to see some of the vehicles - including those awaiting and under restoration - which are not normally on public display. The Museum hosts our own refreshments stand, as well as several visiting enthusiasts' sales stalls. A variety of visiting vehicles - from motor cycles through cars and small commercial vehicles to large commercials and buses and coaches - visits for the day.
Also, many of our cars and buses take to the road for the day and offer a chance to see, hear - and of course travel on - yesterday's transport.
The 'bus services' for this event have grown in recent years - many visiting buses and coaches from around the country join with our own 'fleet' to provide free services for our visitors. The Easter event usually sees around 20-25 buses 'in service' and November usually has between 30 and 40 buses, and offers a rare chance to see our buses out and about after dark.
Stallholders are most welcome (although please note we do not need food / drink sellers) - stall application forms can be downloaded (opens as PDF) for Easter 2018 and November 2018 - please if you would prefer a copy by post.
and Visting Vehicles (classic / vintage motor cycles, cars, military and commercial vehicles, buses and coaches) are most welcome (newcomers are always welcome) - please contact us in advance so we can plan space.
NOTE - other than visiting classic vehicles, parking at the Museum is limited to 'blue badge' holders. We run frequent free bus services from Lincoln City Centre and from a nearby 'park and ride' site. More information will be posted before each event.
Admission to the event is £ 7 (adults), free for accompanied children. Admission includes event programme and bus schedule.
Dogs (other than assistance dogs) are unfortunately no longer allowed on site or on the bus services.
