We regret that dogs, other than assistance dogs, are no longer allowed on the premises.
Opening Times (may be extended for special events)
Following Government advice re the Coronavirus (Covid -19) we have decided to close the museum to the public until further notice.
Group and School Visits
Group and school visits are welcome by arrangement throughout the year, and can be arranged outside public opening hours. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
For school visits, we are pleased to offer a complimentary advance visit for teachers to plan teaching materials and carry out a risk assessment.
Light refreshments can be provided (not included in admission price) if arranged, and we can provide space for children on school visits to eat packed lunches.
Speakers available for local groups
The Society has members available to give talks to local groups about the work of the Society and our restorations - please get in touch if you would like to know more.
By Bus - Stagecoach Lincolnshire services run along Doddington Road - the 'Swanholme Tavern' bus stop is less than 5 minutes' walk to / from the Museum.
Bus route 9 runs from Lincoln Transport Hub to Doddington Road and route 6 from Doddington Road to Lincoln) - both run every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday daytimes, and hourly Monday to Saturday evenings and Sunday daytimes.
Route 6 also provides a link to Doddington Road from Hartsholme and Birchwood, and route 9 back towards Birchwood and Hartsholme.

By Train - Hykeham Railway station, a few minutes walk away from the Museum, is served by East Midlands Railway services between Lincoln and Newark / Nottingham. For times, see National Rail Enquiries (or by phone on 08457 48 49 50.)
By Car- The museum has its own car park, although at special events, special parking arrangements may apply, so please see the web page about that event. There is a cycle stand close to the entrance door.
Accessibility - The car park has marked spaces for disabled drivers, and the Museum, including both toilets, is accessible to wheelchair users.
