Heritage Open Days Heritage Open Days 2016
10 / 11 September

We will be taking part - along with many other attractions in Lincolnshire - in the Heritage Open Days Event, on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September 2016.

Admission to the Museum will be FREE all weekend!

Saturday 10 September

The Museum will be open from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Sunday 11 September

The Museum will be open from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Light refreshments will be available on both Saturday and Sunday (please note, we are not able to accept card payments.).

Bristol LodekkaWe will be operating a free bus service (on Sunday Only) with buses from our collection, connecting the Museum with Lincoln City Centre.

The bus service will run hourly between the Museum and Lincoln City Centre (Silver Street)

Depart Road Transport Museum

10.10 am then hourly (at 10 past each hour) until 3.10 pm then last bus at 4.05 pm

Depart Silver Street / Stonebow Centre (bus shelter near 'Ringrose Law' office)

10.35 am then hourly (at 35 past each hour) until 3.35 pm then last bus at 4.30 pm

The 2.35 pm from City will be the last departure offering a chance to do the round trip and visit the Museum.

We regret we will not be running up the hill this year - Stagecoach bus 17 runs every 30 minutes via the Cathedral, Newport and Burton Road (for Lincolnshire Life Museum)

PLEASE NOTE - due to road closures in the City Centre, we will not be able to stop outside the Railway Station as in past years.

BUS SERVICE - NOTES

Please be aware that most of our historic vehicles were not designed with modern standards of access in mind, and do not have space for unfolded wheelchairs (or baby buggies / push-chairs), but our conductors will offer what help they can.

We will make every effort to maintain the published timetable (in view of the road closures in Lincoln City Centre, we may end up running late), but reserve the right to alter or curtail the service, which depends on the availability of volunteer bus crews and historic vehicles.

The seating capacity on each bus is fixed - we will do everything possible to run a duplicate bus in the event of a full load, but passengers may have to wait for a later bus if no seats are available.

We regret that dogs (other than registered assistance dogs) are no longer allowed on the Society's buses or on Museum premises.

This gives a 'taster' for our Open Day Events (the next is on Sunday, 6 November) - when many more of our vehicles - cars as well as buses - will be on the road, along with a display of visiting vehicles, sales stands, and a number of 'guest' buses and coaches also in service.

Heritage Open Days are supported by: The Heritage Trust of Lincolnshire and English Heritage

We regret that dogs (other than registered assistance dogs) are no longer allowed on the Society's buses or on Museum premises.
